“Adopting” a soldier has changed me a little. I think about the guy frequently, although I hardly know anything about him. I don’t even know where he’s stationed. What I do know is that he wants snacks and Axe body wash. This, and a few letters a month, I can provide. This is very little for what I feel like I am getting in return.

I made a post yesterday and was all set to publish it.
And then I decided against it.
It was a big rant and rave about the DHs father and pretty much how I think he’s the biggest slimeball on the face of the planet. I don’t think that needs to be publicly aired at this time – I don’t know who exactly is reading this blog…
Anyway! On a happier set of topics, maybe, as there’s interesting stuff afoot in the sports world.

Apparently, lots and lots and lots of folks are into one certain NFL WR that I had posted about in my List Love posting: Brandon London. Yes, he’s a hottie. Sho’ nuff. But what the heck with the go-zillion hits I got off of him the other day? I tried to see if there was some news regarding him, and all I could find was an older reference to a BET special that he was modeling on. Not that I mind – maybe more folks will hang around and laugh with me at the absurdities of life and enjoy the hotness of athletes – but how random! For you all, he’s your Hot Guy Pic of the Day…check it below.
Before we get to that, let’s talk about some sports goodness. Yesterday I didn’t have much time, so I neglected to laugh evilly over the ChiSox’s taking of the Crosstown from the Northside Pity. As Meatloaf says, two out of three ain’t bad. The DH had to suffer with me all weekend over it. The 6-0 shutout was the frosting on such a delicious cake.
Poor guy. He doesn’t totally deserve all the abuse. Not totally.
My White Sox also defeated the bottom-dwelling Indians last night 6-3, but face the possible happy-vibe killah that is Cliff Lee tonight. No worries, kids, we’re still something like 5 games back from the division-leading Tigers. This is something the DH doesn’t let me forget.
I have never really considered going to a draft. That is, until I read about how much fun Wraps had in Montreal at the NHL draft…now, I’m damn jealous and want to go. Maybe it’s just that I need to get out of central Indiana, but this sure seemed like a freaking blast.
Now, because work is kinda slow, I’m going to go research some more law schools and count down until the Indianapolis Indians game tonight…
As promised, Brandon London:

Once again, I’ll use blogging as a good avoidance to do real work…I’m getting pretty good at it.
Anyway, I have about 30 minutes before I’m scheduled to go donate blood. I highly recommend it if you are able – there’s nothing like laying around for an hour and getting cookies and Gatorade to do it. Really, it’s about doing the right thing – I’m a “universal donor”, so everyone can use my blood – and the right thing often brings good karma. I need all of that I can get to offset the bad I have (see any post with the tag “Ranting” and you’ll see why).
I’ll be relocating the Cube’o'Doom tomorrow to its new home right next to a lovely sunny window. I’m thinking it’s going to be a great thing – until summer comes and all I want to do is go outside. The, I’ll be wistfully staring outside, trying to will the clock to go faster.
I had a client meeting today – not too bad – and I’m glad that I looked nice. One of the gentlemen on the client team was nice and attractive. Yeah, so he’s married with three kids; he’s really great to look at across the table. I’ll have to see if I can keep my attachment to this particular client so I can keep having meetings.
I am so bad. And it’s so good.
I just got some new work to review, so I’ll wrap this up with a dose of the Good, Bad, Ugly, and Funny.
Good: Hot guys in meetings, Ella Fitzgerald singing “Under a Blanket of Blue”, tomorrow’s my last work day of the week.
Bad: I have to move very close to some other folks that I’m not particularly fond of. Perhaps we’ll all get some new nicknames to enjoy here on Wings&Words.
Ugly: I have decided that the worst song of 2008 is Kid Rock’s “All Summer Long”. He single-handedly destroyed two classic rock songs in one fell swoop. I usually like Kid Rock…but this is the epitome of laziness. Come up with your own riffs, man!
Funny: I just don’t get people, I guess. Yesterday was an awesome day for America – the inauguration and all – and yet, the headline under “Obama is sworn in” was “What was Michelle wearing?” Who gives a shit who designed her yellow dress or her white ballgown? Are we all that shallow and out of touch with the real issues at hand or is it just escapism?
Bonus! Random Hot Guy Pic:

I’ll be cheering for you, Sean!
