Apparently, lots and lots and lots of folks are into one certain NFL WR that I had posted about in my List Love posting: Brandon London.  Yes, he’s a hottie.  Sho’ nuff.  But what the heck with the go-zillion hits I got off of him the other day?  I tried to see if there was some news regarding him, and all I could find was an older reference to a BET special that he was modeling on.  Not that I mind – maybe more folks will hang around and laugh with me at the absurdities of life and enjoy the hotness of athletes – but how random!  For you all, he’s your Hot Guy Pic of the Day…check it below.

Before we get to that, let’s talk about some sports goodness.  Yesterday I didn’t have much time, so I neglected to laugh evilly over the ChiSox’s taking of the Crosstown from the Northside Pity.  As Meatloaf says, two out of three ain’t bad.  The DH had to suffer with me all weekend over it.  The 6-0 shutout was the frosting on such a delicious cake. ;)   Poor guy.  He doesn’t totally deserve all the abuse.  Not totally.

My White Sox also defeated the bottom-dwelling Indians last night 6-3, but face the possible happy-vibe killah that is Cliff Lee tonight.  No worries, kids, we’re still something like 5 games back from the division-leading Tigers.  This is something the DH doesn’t let me forget.

I have never really considered going to a draft.  That is, until I read about how much fun Wraps had in Montreal at the NHL draft…now, I’m damn jealous and want to go.  Maybe it’s just that I need to get out of central Indiana, but this sure seemed like a freaking blast.

Now, because work is kinda slow, I’m going to go research some more law schools and count down until the Indianapolis Indians game tonight…

As promised, Brandon London:

MSN posted today their hottest 10 MLB players.  I try really hard to not bash on other women’s choices, I really do!  We each like different things about our eye candy: some go for blonde, some go for the facial hair, and some really like those smokin’ hot Latinos.  I prefer tall, dark, and handsome myself, but to each their own, right?  So, there’s no hate here when I say they totally missed the mark on some of these guys.  Well, in my highly considered opinion.  Check out MSN’s slideshow and then come back for my top ten list.

Last baseball season, I posted my All-Hottie MLB team.  You can go back and drool over it here.  I’ll certainly be using that list, but it will be most narrowed down.  Plus, I’ve gotten way better at this posting thing, so you should be able to see more of the pictures I have chosen. :D  If you don’t like my top ten, it’s okay – it’s not haterade, it’s just a matter of taste.

...soap poisoning!

"...soap poisoning!"

Actually, I think it was food poisoning of a mild variety, but it was unpleasant to say the least.  Now I have a pile of work to do and no desire to get to it.  If I must, I must, so I’ll make this brief:

The NFL draft is this coming weekend, and I’m not really into it.  I guess it’s a good thing I won’t be tempted to watch for hours on end since it is airing all weekend on the NFL Network.  Yes, I love football, and I like all of my particular favorites, but who they choose in drafts matters very little to me until they make some impact for the team.  So, uh, we’ll see all about this come September.

Other fun football news, sorta, my “BFF” is mad at me for going to see the Chiefs-Cowboys game as part of my anniversary trip with the DH.  She luuurves Tony Romo, and I’m going to do my very best to get a picture taken with him, just so I can rub it in.  So mean! :D

The Indianapolis Indians are sitting decidedly un-pretty at 3-7.  The most recently scheduled game at Louisville was postponed due to the massive amounts of rain falling in the Ohio River Valley over the past few days.  Perhaps it was a mercy ruling from a higher power.  I hate it when we suck.  I do have to tell you that Scott McCauley, the radio announcer for the Indians, totally nailed it on his assessment of Indians’ hitting in this blog post.  Perhaps, Scott, you can explain why Pearce is sucking so bad right now?  Is it perhaps his attitude?  Maybe I’m just being mean again…

One final thing, and it’s a good one:  I must have been a bit psychic (no, not psycho) when I drooled over firefighters last week.  The FDIC (Fire Department Instructors Conference) is back in Indy.  That means about 30K firefighters are in town.  Too bad it’s fucking raining so they won’t be out like they were last year, but the weather is supposed to both clear up and warm up for the end of the week.  That could mean great ogling opportunities…and your Hot Guy Pics!

So, I might be the High Priestess of Procrastination, but I hateto put off the really important things.  Like doing my taxes.  I don’t know, but I think it’s because there’s actually a penalty ($$$) if you’re late, and I’m not paying the government one more penny than I absolutely have to.  (Un)Fortunately, I am not the accountant in the house.  The DH takes care of the money stuff, mostly because he’s totally anal-retentive and hates the way I do it.  It’s fine with me.

Of course, he waits until last night to submit our state taxes.  He’s already had it calculated, and since we owe about $100, they aren’t getting our money any earlier than necessary.  Normally, I’m okay with that.  Last night, though, it was 6.5 hours of pure hell listening/watching him wrestle with the e-file system that was bogged down from everyone else trying to submit at the last minute.  Then, because Murphy’s Law works, the DSL went down and he couldn’t get the confirmation that it actually went through.  He was pissed and I was pissed at him for the tantrum he decided to throw.  Not a good night.

However, in an ‘all’s well that ends well’ theme, he was able to get in this morning with the repaired DSL and confirm that it was sucessfully submitted last night – at 11:59pm.  Really.  He swears next year that he’ll be doing the paper forms again.

In way less gripe-y things, Spring has re-sprung here in the Circle City.  It’s a beautiful day outside, and that brings out the folks.  In my lovely walk to get lunch, several opportunities for ogling behind sunglasses presented themselves, notably two firefighters, a cop, and a man in a 3-piece suit (yum!).  Even better was the super cutie working behind the counter at Subway…I’ve scoped him out before, but I will not refuse repeat opportunities to check out hot guys.

Since I haven’t done one in a while, here’s a Good, Bad, Ugly, and Funny:

Good:  I have a short day today and tomorrow off, and I plan on enjoying them for all they’re worth.  Ogleworthy guys and sunglasses to hide behind. ;)

Bad:  Just as the weekend arrives, so does the rain.

Ugly:  I just spent 30 minutes listening to the RFAC go on and on about how her boyfriend wasn’t allowed to pick out an engagement ring for her and now the one that she wants is on layaway because she just knows that they’re going to get married and they’re going to live by her mom and they’re blah blah blah blah blah blah…

Funny:  I walked around all morning with a big, fat grin – more than one person asked what I was up to.  I love that game.  :D

Hot Guy Pic!

Feeling positive March 27, 2009

It is my goal today to think positively.  I think that I really enjoy pissing and moaning about stuff a bit too much, so that’s all I do.  Okay, not all, but I do it a lot.  In the spirit of that realization (an epiphany? not so much), I will strive to be positive today!

I started this morning getting out of bed late.  Positively thinking, of course, I got that few extra minutes of much-desired sleep.  It was lovely.  I also spent a few extra minutes in the shower this morning, and it was refreshing.  Traffic, while mostly incorporated of the usual suspects, was not too heavy and I was only five minutes late to my desk.  I’d like to thank all of the folks who have taken today off to go to the NCAA games in town or to start Spring Break a little early.  You made it a hell of a lot easier to get into work this morning. :)

I checked my bracket after last night’s round.  I’m out in the Midwest and have been since the second round, so no news there.  The West played and I am 50% in this round, with Mizzou knocking out Memphis.  My East bracket is still going well – I have both teams right (that’s right, I called the ‘nova game right, bitches!).  The South plays this weekend, and I have UNC and Syracuse heading on the the Elite 8.  We’ll see on Monday how I did.  Here’s my Final Four predictions:

MidwestWake Forest I’m already out here.  Damn it.

West – UConn

East – Pitt

South – Syracuse

I see UConn and Pitt in the Championship game with Pitt coming out on top.  Here’s to being positive!

Feeling quite accomplished at work, I have completed stages of three projects in the past two days.  Today, I am positive that I will try to continue that path, with only a half day used on ogling hot athletes.   For a good one today, go check out the Ladies…

Also on the accomplishment trail, the DH and I finished up with our second 8-week circuit in the gym.  We go tonight to learn our new one.  It’s getting (slowly) to the point where we can see differences.  Not so much in ourselves, but we can see them in each other.  The other telling factors: I don’t feel winded going up two flights of stairs here at work, and I had to go down a size when buying shirts last weekend.  It’s a nice feeling.

Feeling positive and good about myself improves my outlook on others…well, mostly it just makes me more confident whilst ogling guys.  So, let’s hop to that for the close, shall we?  My current top five in pics:

In Indiana, there’s a decent line of thinking that says that the last of the crappy winter weather will hit us right about the time of high school boys’  basketball sectionals.  That’s a little less than a month away.  Hell, even Punxatawney Phil (the groundhog) said it was six more weeks of winter.

But I say screw the groundhog (not literally, of course)!  Forget basketball sectionals!  Ignore that it’s supposed to sleet tonight!  Why?  Because Spring Training is here.  Almost.  Pitchers and catchers for a couple of teams have already reported.  This weekend should bring the rest to the warmer confines of the south and southeast.

Ah, to be there.  I’d enjoy the sunshine, and I would certainly enjoy the ogling. ;-)

The window seat rocks.  It rocks on a plane (especially if you’re behind the wing and get to watch the flaps, etc., work), and it rocks at work.  Well, at least it does on the 10th floor.  I think, maybe, on the 1st floor, it might be annoying as all the people walk by.  But then, I’d have more fun stuff to comment (read: snark) on!

Anyway, the snow is falling fast and furious, but from here, it looks like it’s drifting down gently.  If the wind lets up a little, the flakes nearest the building dance along the glass before being pulled away by the resurgence of the breeze.  We’re supposed to get several more inches through the overnight.

What is it that we need when it’s cold and snowy?  That’s right – hotties!  Check out what could warm you right up after the jump…

I feel like I have forgotten how to do this.  It has been a while, what with that handy scheduled post dealy.  Brilliant people come up with these ideas…I just use them to my advantage.

Anyway, back at work today, and the computer is still a giant piece of crap.  They had to take it away this morning and put another new memory stick into it…that’s the other half now, for those keeping track.  So, a new hard drive and all new memory later, we’ll see how long this holds up.  They even checked me for malware – I go to places where malware might attach itself to my computer?? – and I’m clean.  At least for that. ;-)

I hope you have all had a great Christmastime, and are preparing yourself for the impending New Year.  Here’s hoping that 2009 is better than 2008, and here are some needed resolutions:

Get better faster!

Gain confidence in the red zone!

Get back into the Majors!

Damn, thats a fine ass.

Damn, that's a fine ass.

Check people for camera phones at the door

Wear more pinstripes and keep the sideburns

Yes, please

Yes, please!

Trust me, guys, the women of the world thank you for these resolutions!

We’ll call this the “mostly unattainable” list, and I’ll keep it to 15 things.

15.  World Peace:  Putting myself at risk of sounding like a pageant contestant, it would be nice to have a bit of peace in the world, even if it’s only for one day.

14.  Something truly good for the City of Detroit:  I feel bad that the city gets such a bad rap.  It’s actually quite a decent place with nice people.  They just can’t pick leaders – for their governance, businesses, or sports teams.

13.

Do you think it will fit under the tree?

Do you think it will fit under the tree?

12.  A new cube, far away from Stupid Idiot Guy and the SLOG.   Although, it was fun to hear the SLOG bash on the Stupid Idiot Guy this morning…while he’s here, they’re pals.  When he’s not…<insert screeching sound from Psycho and complete with backstabbing motion>!

11.  Patience.  Yeah, that’ll happen.

10.

Ill have one of these...

I'll have one of these...

9.  The ChiSox in the World Series for 2009.

8.  The Packers in the Super Bowl (Jan 2010).  Hey, a girl can dream, can’t she??

7.

My very own tropical island

  5.

A Great Dane Puppy

4.  A maid to clean my house for me

3.  Someone to wash my hair every morning (just because it feels so good when someone else does it)

2.  especially if that someone is this someone:

Gorgeous has a name and that name is Tom Brady.

1.  Everyone to have a very Merry Christmas – or whatever holiday you happen to celebrate.  May it be wonderful for you.
