There’s no other way to explain the things this morning. It’s just a Monday. I’m not really griping – it just seems like stuff didn’t fall well together this morning, so someone (or something) must be blamed.
- After a long and busy weekend, we made it back home late last night. This means no grocery shopping, so it was up to leftovers for lunch today. Well, I promptly left mine at home this morning on the ay out the door, so I guess I’ll be going out for lunch today. Perhaps that was a little subconscious – I wasn’t looking forward to the leftovers anyway.
- I run late to work, not terribly late, but 10 minutes late. I’ll just make it up this afternoon. No big deal.
- I had an eye doctor appointment on Friday. No big deal there, either, except I needed to get new lenses. “No problem,” I say, knowing that I have a spare pair at home that are close enough to get me through the week. Yep. Left those at home too. So, I have no glasses to read with today, so I’ll be expecting that eyestrain headache sometime around noon.
- I was sort of excited to check my bracket this morning…I knew that tO$U has lost to Siena, so I was cool for checking out how I did. UNTIL I SEE THAT WAKE FOREST BLEW IT AGAINST FREAKING CLEVELAND STATE (who also beat Butler in Horizon League Championship, btw) AND FUCKED IT ALL UP FOR ME!! Okay, so it’s not that bad nor is it that big of a deal (I don’t put money on these things for a reason), but come on! Here’s my bracket stats so far:
- Midwest – 5 of 8 for the first round winners; 2 of 4 for the second round. The losses of Wake and WVU knock me out in the Midwest from here on out.
- West – 8 of 8 (woo!) for first round winners; 2 of 4 for second round. I’m not out of this one yet.
- East – Rockin’ the casbah with 6 of 8 in the first round and 3 of 4 in the second. WTF with Xavier??
- South – 5 of 8 for first rounders; 4 of freakin’ 4 for second rounders. Not too bad here either. It is too bad that both Butler and Michigan are out, but I predicted those by this point.
I have a pile of work on my desk that has just gotten bigger, so I should get to that. To tide you (and me) over and to bring a smile to your face, here’s a hot piece of luscious man candy:

The window seat rocks. It rocks on a plane (especially if you’re behind the wing and get to watch the flaps, etc., work), and it rocks at work. Well, at least it does on the 10th floor. I think, maybe, on the 1st floor, it might be annoying as all the people walk by. But then, I’d have more fun stuff to comment (read: snark) on!
Anyway, the snow is falling fast and furious, but from here, it looks like it’s drifting down gently. If the wind lets up a little, the flakes nearest the building dance along the glass before being pulled away by the resurgence of the breeze. We’re supposed to get several more inches through the overnight.
What is it that we need when it’s cold and snowy? That’s right – hotties! Check out what could warm you right up after the jump…

So, I’ve reached the point in both college and professional football where it’s more about rooting against teams than it is for their opponents. Why is that? Well, it’s because my teams sucked it up this year and aren’t in the playoffs or bowl games or whatever. So, now I just root against those I don’t want to win…not so much caring about who wins. More after the leap!

Here’s my attempt at a brief post – it always seems to take me a long time to write these. I either get distracted by people visiting the cube’o'doom or I’m looking up stuff to put in here. There’s so much fodder on the main pages today, though, that I think I can do a decent job of busting this one out quick. It also helps that I’ve got a shitload of things to accomplish today at work, and I’d like to get started on that pronto. So, for your reading pleasure, I’ve created today’s Good, Bad, Ugly, and Funny list:
Good: My head cold seems to either be going away, or the colder temps today have helped me feel better. I’m starting a workout regimen – complete with trainer! – to help me get in better shape. I’m not too terribly unfit, but I could use the help. The Magical Fitness Tour starts tomorrow at 6pm. Tony Romo is such a good kid.
Bad: Adam “Pacman” Jones is back in the NFL and back with the Cowboys. I’m all for giving people a second chance, but this seems to be a little ridiculous. I wonder if he has some blackmailish pics of Roger Goodell…Tony Romo is still dating that stupid bimbo. Jealousy? Not really. It’s more like wishing your guy friend had better taste.
Ugly: READ THIS STORY. Of course there has been no investigation yet, but this is absolute bullshit if it’s true. It’s not just because he’s the father of one of the best WRs in the NFL, but it’s because he’s a human being and we all deserve to be treated better than that.
Funny: Maybe it’s not only in Indiana, but that’s the first thought that crossed my mind when I read this headline: “Ind. inmates sneak through ceiling to have sex”. It’s proof that some people will really do it all for the nookie. Also funny: Ball State almost lost to who? Oh, that’s right – Central Michigan. I would have laughed my ass off – Go Chips!
