I know it’s been a really long time since I posted.  In fact, I had an “update” kind of post all thought out about three weeks ago, and it never happened.  I’m not sure if they’re really watching this kind of thing here at work, but, if so, I’m trying to be sneaky.  :)   A little insolence never hurt anyone, did it?

However, I am a little busy here in the Cube’O'Doom, so I think I’ll give you the Twitter version of an update.  All items will be 140 characters or less.  Be prepared for some randomosity.

  • The White Sox sucked it up.  I can hardly take the annoyance and threaten, once again, to give up on them and cheer for someone else.
  • Damn it, I want the Angels to win.
  • I renewed my affair with the Saints, Packers, and Tom Brady.  Only Saints have returned the love. Tom tried to make it up to me last game.
  • Went to St. Maarten for a week’s vacation.  Loved, loved, loved it!
  • Went to Kansas City to see the Cowgirls almost get ridden roughshod by the Chiefs.  Too bad the red team lost.
  • Did I mention it was colder than phuck in KC for the game?  Still I love outdoor football.
  • Is scalping tickets legal in St. Louis? I want to go see the Rams try and win one in November and don’t want to go to jail or pay much.
  • Increasingly annoyed with friend SR: she can’t commit to doing things with us, but she’ll commit to 1000 for people she regularly bashes.
  • Got an awesome visit from friend SD and had a great girls’ weekend.
  • Also in love with new Camaro. Too bad I won’t be able to afford one.
  • Only intermittently busy at work, but spent a lot of vacation time with no consequence (no late work).
  • Confirmed S&M tendencies by going back to personal trainers after vacation.  Working out hurts and I love it!
  • Adopted another soldier through Soldier’s Angels.  Got SD to adopt one!  You should do it too, ‘cuz all the cool kids are doing it.

That’s enough for now.  Here’s the Hot Guy for ya – you might have seen this one coming:

How not to get home from Boston April 7, 2009

I had an awesome weekend.  Truly and totally awesome.  (Side note:  The office hunchback just gimped his way past my cube.  Why is he over here?  This guy wears his winter coat all the time and slumps like he’s literally got the weight of the world on his shoulders.  He never has a good word to say, and he usually just grunts in reply to a general  ‘morning’.  Odd duck, that one.  Anyway…)  As a Delta SkyMiles member, I get the emails about what’s going on with them, including their fun weekly deals.  Most of the time, it does not include Indianapolis, and if it does, the flight for cheap goes to Kansas City or Minot, ND.  Woo!  This past week, however, the $69 deal was to Bahston, where my very good friend SD lives.

I pondered this good news for a while.  Until Wednesday, to be precise.  Then, I chat SD up in a text spree:  Big plans this weekend?  She says nah, and wonders why.  I tell her about the fares.  She LOLs me – “good april fools joke!” – hah.  Pfft.  I tell her that I don’t joke about cheap airfare and we make the plans.

I fly out Saturday night and hang with her until yesterday afternoon, when she dropped me off at the airport.  This was 1pm, and I was heading onto a flight at 2pm.  Or so I thought.  Seriously, FIVE hours later, I’m in the mini-plane taking off from Logan airport.  There was about 30 of us total on this flight, so we had a good time chatting with each other during our extended visit to the Boston airport.  It’s a nice airport, fortunately, and had both a bar and a Dunkin’ Doughnuts in close proximity to the gate where I was cooling my jets (ha!).

Because of the weather, we had to take the long way home from Boston; our flight path took us past Buffalo, down to Cleveland, and then to Indy.  It’s very odd, but it was suppoedly to get past the wonky weather we’re having.  At least the sun is shining here in Indy today…it’s cold out though.

Thursday is Opening Night for the Indians, and yours truly has tickets.  The Indians are going to lose on their weather guarantee, I think.  The MLB Opening Day for the White Sox was snowed out…and the Red Sox weren’t able to make SD’s day on Monday because of the massive amount of rain in Beantown.

UNC won in Detroit over Sparty…I guess I had stopped caring about the tourney a while ago, so whatevs on that.  Hockey is still cool to catch a few peeks at every now and then, and there’s only one major story in the NFL.  Jay Cutler’s trade to Chicago makes me slightly nervous – I hate the Bears out of principle – but they still don’t have a good defense.  The first “real” NFL game is a Sunday-nighter between the Pack and the Bears, so it’s going to be quite a show come September (?  I think that’s when it is.  I’m so out of it.)

I need to get into the swing of things here, so here’s a bit of yumminess for your viewing pleasure:

In the Boston state of mind: Pedroias a cutie for such a short guy. He reminds me of my friend Keith (who also happens to be a kinda short cutie!).
